How It Works – Step-by-Step Guide

Reports in Discover can be generated

  • from the Feed Page
  • from the Reports page

📍 From the Feed Page

This section explains how to create a report in Discover starting from your feed view and managing saved reports.

Start building your report directly from the content you're exploring:

  1. Apply filters to your feed (e.g., date range, brand, media type, placement type).
  2. Sort the order of the clippings in a report by selecting your preferred option under the “Sort by” menu—such as Publication Date, MIV, Reach/Subscribers
  3. Click  the green icon “Create a report” in the top-right.
  4. Select your preferred report type (e.g., Excel, Excel Advanced, Power-point or Online.
  5. Configure your report by selecting options: compare period, language, currency, tags and clippings.
  6. Click “Save Report” to store the configuration.
  7. Choose report visibility settings:
    • Private: Only visible to you
    • Global: Visible to all users in your site

📍 From the Reports Page

This section explains how to create a report in Discover starting from the report page

  • View all previously saved report
  • Edit reports: You can choose to update the existing version or “Save as New” — perfect for turning a template into a final report version without overwriting the original.
  • Delete reports:
    • Users can only delete their own private reports or global reports they created.
    • Managers have full rights and can delete any report, including global ones created by others.
  • Export report

💡 Pro Tip:

Use relative date periods (like Current Month, Previous Month, Current Quarter, etc.) and set a comparison period when building your reports. This way, you don’t need to rebuild reports every time — just click “Export”, and your report will be automatically updated with fresh data based on the selected timeframe.

FAQs

Here are some common questions you might have:

Why is my Discover report not automatically downloading?

If your report does not download after completion, it may be necessary to enable "pop-ups" from Launchmetrics.

While downloading your report, monitor your URL bar for a pop-up icon.

  • Click the pop up icon to allow downloads

Will my reports created in the old builder still be accessible?

No, as on previous builder you were not able to save them you will start fresh with an empty list of reports

Can I revert back to the old Report Builder?

Once activated, the new experience replaces the legacy version for a more seamless workflow.

Can I share a saved report with teammates?

Yes — when saving your report, select Global visibility to make it accessible to your team.

Do my saved configurations include filters and layout?

Absolutely. Your saved reports retain your chosen filters, layout, and export format.

Can I modify a report without changing the original?

Yes – when editing a report, you can either update it directly or “Save as New”, which is ideal for adapting templates into final reports without losing the original setup.

How can I sort the placements in a specific order within a report?

You can sort the order of the clippings in a report by selecting your preferred option under the “Sort by” menu—such as Publication Date, MIV, Reach/Subscribers, and more.

Where do I select the number of clippings to add in my report?

You can select the number if clippings to add in you report by clicking on +ADD “include clippings of first placements” in the Export section.

You can select up to 500 clippings per feed, both in the online and PowerPoint reports.

Why are repeated articles present in the Excel Report?

If you notice repeated articles in the Excel report, this is likely because the “Brand” filter was not selected when generating the report. When an article mentions multiple brands that are included in your brand list, it will appear multiple times in the report—once for each associated brand.

To avoid this, you can either:

  • apply the “Brand” filter before generating the report, or
  • filter by brand directly within the Excel file after downloading it.
